2Cr 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

In today’s world, the enemy of soul is working hard to put his enticing snares so God’s people will be trapped. He is more focused on the righteous ones, why? because he cannot accept that he is bound for damnation while we have all the chance to acquire the sweet promises of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will do is utmost strength to make sure no one or very few will make it in the end. In order to implement this, he is trying to mix truth with error… its like a little poison in a glass of water.We can’t really taste the poison but little by little we become weak and weaker and later we know we are captured like a prey in his net! There are many ways we can be unequally yoking with unbelievers;

1. When you hangout with worldly friends. We all have worldly friends. We love them because we want them to learn the truth and come to Christ.  Every Christian should feel the zeal to reach out to the lost and share to them the truth.  The intention to hang out with them is very important. What is your purpose of going out with them? Is it to share the truth? If not, there are many dangers  along the way. I have been hanging out with worldly friends in the past and before I become like them, I asked for help from God that He will keep me out from that company. Once you are around them, they will speak of everything they can think and most of them are really really evil. They will start to share about their dirty secrets, they use foul words most of the times, they curse their enemies, and most of all they dressed like the “world.” When an innocent prey starts to mingle with worldly friends, he will start to become like them. One time, I heard a bad word from my little brother. He never knew that I was in the window watching him. I caught his attention and I asked him how he learned to speak those nasty words, and he said he copied it from his friends. As a big sister, I am concern that he is going to follow the path of his friends, so I told my mother about it and its never too late my brother learned his situation and came back on tract. When I was in college, after exams my classmates will go straight way to the bar to drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes. The first time they invited me, I said NO, then there were no more invitations that following that. I have seen that some of my classmates who have never been to the bar were curious and accepted the invitations. At the end of the year they ended up just like them. The few individuals who never wear make up, never drink alcohol, etc at first are now unrecognizable because they completely changed into the image of their friends. There is so called “uniformity”  in them… and if you don’t conform to  their standards, you don’t belong. Christians have their own standards that is found in the Word of God . In Tts 2:14 it says, ” Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

2. Marrying the unbeliever. A lot of bitter experiences happened to the Christians who sailed in the forbidden seas. Most of them were led astray by their husband/wife. Take at look at Solomon, Samson, and many others who fell into the hands of the unbeliever wives. Satan will use the unbeliever wife/husband to take you away from the love of God. If you marry an unbeliever, a lot of clashes will happen. The  unbeliever wife/husband might want to eat abomination food, distract you from keeping the Sabbath, will ask you to go to movies and accused you of not loving her/him if you don’t go, listen to worldly music in loud speakers inside your home and car, feed and teach your kids the same way, and by then you realize you are in trouble. You are becoming weary and just want to have peace with her/him and later you know you are with her/him and forget your duty to God.

Our Great Commission

“Mat 28:19, 20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Every one that proclaims a Christian has a work to do. We are to preach the truth to every places we go. People think that preaching is only for the pastors and ministers but that is a big mistake.   We can teach people in many ways;  through our character by reflecting Christ, by sharing the truth to our co workers, by standing for the truth and not working on sabbath, by being honest at work, by helping the  needy and poor, by comforting the weary and sick, by feeding the hungry, by helping passing out tracts, by offering our prayers to those who are on the field spreading the gospel and helping them by all means, by sharing the truth on youtube, and the list continues.  God’s promise is that he will be with you (us) alway, even unto the end of the world. Wherever field you are working now, continue to preach and share the light of truth to whoever soul you will be meeting. You can start in your own home by making your family a little heaven on earth and you can expand your ministry with the help of the Holy Spirit in your office, in the parking lot,  etc …

Even before my husband and I got married, he was zealous to the work of God. He loves to pass out present truth paper tracts in the parking lots of these sunday keeping protestants, in the parking lots of malls, grocery stores and leaving them in the house porches. When God gave us the chance to meet each other in Dubai, we were passing them out in every houses in the community, outside and inside the professed christian churches, etc… After we got married and I moved here in the US, we continue to do this work. Every night when we take a walk we put them on cars along the way even in the parking lots of the stores where we buy our groceries. One day when he and Bro Craig were passing out tracts outside the walmart superstore, one of the individuals who got the card was upset and called the police and accused my husband of trying to break into cars. My husband was detained by the police; handcuffed under the heat of the sun and told him that people accused him of throwing his urine to people. In short, this very upset individual will do all and will lie just to put my husband in the jail! But the real reason is because my husband was sharing  the message that “Pope is the Antichrist” and “Snnday Worship is the Mark of the Beast.” This is a clear example, brothers and sisters, that a day will come that we that are working for the Lord’s cause will be put to jail for no reason or for false accusations. The enemy of souls will do his best to put God’s people behind bars to stop the work just like Paul and his companions. But this is not going to stop us from doing the work. We even Praise the Lord! It is a sign that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ’s coming is very soon and we will be going home and meet our dear brethren and family in Christ including those who are sleeping in the grave. We miss all them and we will strive to do our best to push this work by all means to hasten the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. We can’t wait for our God to tell us, “Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of the Lord. “Matthew 25:23

In heaven there will be a great Reunion! Amen and Amen…

To whom it may concern:

This is to inform you that I cannot join the Christmas party tonight due to the fact that I do not participate in any pagan celebration. Christmas celebration is a pagan celebration. Nowhere in the Bible is recorded the birthday of Jesus Christ neither is there any record of any of God’s people celebrating birthdays. The day when Christ was born was made known to no one. Ellen white clearly states it:

“The twenty-fifth of December is supposed to be the day of the birth of Jesus Christ, and its observance has become customary and popular. But yet there is no certainty that we are keeping the veritable day of our Saviour’s birth. History gives us no certain assurance of this. The Bible does not give us the precise time. Had the Lord deemed this knowledge essential to our salvation, he would have spoken through his prophets and apostles, that we might know all about the matter. But the silence of the Scriptures upon this point evidences to us that it is hidden from us for the wisest purposes. In his wisdom, the Lord concealed the place where he buried Moses. God buried him, and God resurrected him, and took him to heaven. This secrecy was to prevent idolatry.” -Review & Herald 12-9-1884

“For the very same purpose he has concealed the precise day of Christ’s birth; that the day should not receive the honour that should be given to Christ as the Redeemer of the world, – one to be received, to be trusted, to be relied on as he who could save to the uttermost all who come unto him. The soul’s adoration should be given to Jesus as the Son of the infinite God.

“There is no divine sanctity resting upon the twenty-fifth of December; and it is not pleasing to God that anything that concerns the salvation of man through the infinite sacrifice made for them, should be so sadly perverted from its professed design. Christ should be the supreme object; but as Christmas has been observed, the glory is turned from him to mortal man, whose sinful, defective character made it necessary for him to come to our world.” -Review & Herald 12-9-1884

“Even Christmas, the day observed professedly in honour of the birthday of Christ, has been made a most effective means of turning the mind away from Christ, away from his glory. ” -Review & Herald 12-9-1890

Please read the papers enclosed for further study.

My family is disappointed because of this institution’s compromise with the world. Indeed “strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:14

With this said, I rather obey God than men. Acts 5:29

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Stephen Jan

When I was first year high school (13 years old) I joined the school’s journalist writers club. There I was trained to write news and do copyreading. At the middle of the year we were sent for a contest; the first level (Division LEvel) with 40 contestants. Unfortunately,  I did not make it in the top 10. I was not discouraged. I prayed to God. His will be done.

The year after that, my family was driven out from Seventh Day Adventist GC because of the questions my parents asked to the pastors. By then we started to have home church. 3/4 of our brethren from the GC church joined our first worship up to the present.

When I was in 2nd year high school, I started my training again but that time I was assigned to do the Sportswriting. I undergone trainings. But I made sure I dont have trainings on Sabbath Day and the coach gave special exemptions for me. I prayed to God fervently that He will let me win in the Division level so that I can join the next level which is the Regional level. But God did not permit it. I was not discouraged. I just prayed and thanked Him. Same thing happened the next year (3rd year high school).

During my last year in high school (4th year) I joined again the writing contest. As usual…training..reading..writing..and all. I prayed that God will let me make it. In the division level I ranked 2nd (the first 7th will qualify for the regional level). So I joined the regional level with 88 contestants I prayed to God that He will let me win so that I can join the biggest event which is the National Level (whole Philippines). I ranked 6th (first 7th will qualify the next level).

February 2004 we sailed to Manila via Cagayan de Oro city because the Regional Office of the Dept of Education is in Cagayan de Oro and they will sponsor us with all the expenses for the fare back and forth. I prayed so hard that I would be able to keep God’s commandments away from home. I said to myself “I need to be courageous to say NO if they will tell me to do things that is against God’s principles.” I kept reading my Bible and shared the truth about the sabbath to other students that were with me. I explained to them why I don’t eat the food they eat, why I keep the sabbath Saturday instead of their  Sunday. And they just nodded and do their rosary, too.

We arrived in Manila friday. The Regional Director (Dept of Educ) announced that enhancement seminar will be held tomorrow (Saturday) and  no one is exempted! I talked to my coach heartily, “Ma’am, before I came here, you promised I will be exempted from Sabbath trainings.” She replied, “can’t you hear that? He is our head. We must follow or you go home. Don’t worry I will not tell your mom that you joined the training. Don’t worry you will do this once only, your God will surely understand.” I got teary eyes. I asked her “What can I do to fight my faith?” she said, “If you have the courage to talk to one of the Division Supervisors for a request to be exempted. But I tell you shes very strict, you’ll be embarrassed.” That time all I have in my heart was the courage to talk to the Supervisor. I went inside the room and prayed, “Lord I don’t want to violate  your Holy day. Please touch the heart of the Supervisor”

I took a deep breath, I went to the supervisor and said, “Good Afternoon Maam, I’m one of your students. I would like to ask for an exemption for tomorrow’s training since It is Saturday. It is the Sabbath of the Lord according to the Bible. If I’m going to violate it, He will surely won’t answer my prayers. He will not help me. All our efforts will be in vain.” Unexpectedly, she replied, “Yes, Miss Novi, I respect your faith to your God. You are exempted tomorrow. Please pray to your God that He will help you win.” Happily, I ran to my room and prayed to God and thanked Him. That Saturday, I worshiped God and studied His words.

The night came before the contest. The head of all the teachers from different schools called everyone to gather for a special worship, asking for God’s help.  There were nearly 40 students and teachers in the room that night. The principal teacher stood up and said “for the message we will ask Ms Novi to give us an encouragement“. I really wondered why she pointed me (maybe because I was the only one bringing a Bible). I did not refuse because it was a privilege. It was a chance for me to share God’s truth to these brilliant minds (although worldly wisdom). I quoted the verse my mom gave to me before I left home. In Deuteronomy 28:13…And the Lord shall make thee the head and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them: I stressed to them that we have to keep His commandments in order for Him to make us the head. God’s promises are conditional. We have to keep His commandments. I enumerated the 10 commandments. I finished the message uplifting God’s Laws. I never heard a word from them.

Hours later after the worship, I was reviewing the words I’ve said. I prayed to God,Lord, please help me. Show to them that you are with me and that my words are from you. Show to them that you love those who keep your commandments. But if it isn’t your will I would accept that just like I have accepted the failures I have been through along the way before I got here.”

The contest came, in my thoughts were the promises of God. I kept on praying for His help. The gymnasium was so crowded with different contestants from different regions of the country. I cant count them one by one. We were given 1 hour to watch a  game and then 1 hour to write the news about it in  separated rooms. With an empty stomach, I finished my output 5 minutes before the due.

Upon arriving at the building where the students were accomodated, the Regional Director announced that for the first time they will ask for help from the Division Office. The Regional office (for the first time) will no longer shoulder the fare going back to our place (Misamis Occidental) due to financial shortage. So the tickets were rebooked and we have new tickets. Instead of via Cagayan, we have to sail via Ozamis this time since it is one of the cities of Misamis Occidental ( nearer).

We were in the sea port while the awarding was going on in the huge auditorium in Sta Cruz, Laguna, Philippines. A text message came to one of the teachers (I don’t have a cellphone that time). It states, “Champion, Sportswriting, Novilene. Congrats!” After hearing that, the first thing came to my mind was the Deut 28:13. I thank God so much. I heard them saying, “She won because she kept the commandments of God. Have you observed that she was always reading her Bible, indeed, God helped her.” I told them, “It wasn’t me, To Him be the glory.” God did not want me to be ashamed of the words I shared to them the night before the contest. I remember the contest between Prophet Elijah in Mount Carmel. At the end, God showed to the people the truth.

Finally, we got on board. Some of the students and teachers were no longer with us almost half of them are boarding at the other ship, the Superferry 14 (the first ship in which our ticket was booked). Around 5am, I heard the news from the national television that Superferry 14 is in tragedy. It has bombed in it at the tourist accomodation (my ticket was tourist accomodation). It burned the entire ship. Some of the news about the Superferry 14 of February 2004 tragedy is found in  http://www.newsflash.org/2004/02/hl/hl100123.htm

Everything in our life is God’s will. I learned not to complain during failures. During trying hours I just prayed to Him for strength. If the ticket was not rebooked by the Regional director, I should be one of the victims in that tragedy. Some of the students were missing until now. My life is in God’s hand. I know He has a plan for me.

He made me the head and not the tail in a national writing contest and He saved my life from the tragedy because I keep His commandments.

Later, I heard that competition is not good. Especially in the classroom because it might cultivate a pride in the heart and that invites sin. I always bear in my mind and heart that the success of that event was from God and not from my own strength. Without Him I’m nothing.

Whenever man accomplishes anything, whether in spiritual or temporal lines, he should bear in mind that he does it through cooperation with his Maker. There is great necessity for us to realize our dependence on God. Too much confidence is placed in man, too much reliance on human inventions lead us to the road of perdition and if there is too little confidence in the power which God stands ready to give. “We are laborers together with God.” 1 Cor. 3:9. Immeasurably inferior is the part which the human agent sustains; but if he is linked with the divinity of Christ, he can do all things through the strength that Christ imparts. COL 28.

The news spread throughout the province. I just replied, “It was Jesus Christ who helped me, not me alone!”

Thank you so much for the website www.remnantofgod.org. It helped me a lot in spreading the truth to my classmates and friends. the quotes I needed were  all there.

Hello world!

Hello! Hope you will be spiritually uplifted in reading my articles at wordpress. I will be writing my experiences how God’s hand moves to save me. Life without God is empty. That is why people from different parts of the world; rich and poor, balck or white….some  ended up their lives  in suicide, divorce, etc..

We should search for God’s truth..Not just to plainly profess as Christians, but be the light to everyone by walking as Christ walketh. Remember our duty …Ecclesiastes 12:13 “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and Keep His commandments for this is the whole duty of man.”

Keep the Faith based on “What is Written”

God bless us all!
